FIRST AIR RESPONDER
Knight Support have been coordinating Emergency Air evacuations since 1999. When incidents happen you need an organization that is experienced and has the professional staff and equipment ready for action.
2006 saw the launch of yet another service from Knight Support - First Air Responder (FAR), an emergency medical evacuation scheme operating from East Africa.
We operate using reputable air charter companies based in the north and south of Tanzania and Intensive Care Air Ambulance Nairobi, Kenya. We can mobilize fixed wing or rotor wing depending on location and emergency. We use our own Advanced Life Support ambulances for all ground handling, airport/hospital transfer and for emergencies on the ground. We have Knight Support ambulances in Nairobi, Arusha/Moshi, Mwanza and Dar es Salaam, and access to ground support in Zanzibar, Mbeya, Dodoma and Tanga.
FAR is a membership scheme for Tourist and Residents in East Africa. You can cover yourself from as little as 14 days up to 1 year to ensure that wherever you are in East Africa we will come to your assistance in the event of an Emergency Ground or Air evacuation. FAR is on standby 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year, ready to deploy at a moments notice to its members. You or your clients may have International Medical cover but this will not help you when you need IMMEDIATE FIRST RESPONSE ASSISTANCE for your loved one or your client. We offer you assistance from the scene of the incident all the way through to the hospital.

General Manager
Rhona Potgieter – General Manager.
Rhona has 14 years experience of Health Services Management working with the Argyll & Bute NHS in Scotland. Yes she is Scottish and speaks a little Swahili but fluent in Glaswegian! She was part of the Project Management Team for the building and commissioning of the Lorn & Islands District General Hospital, a 138 Acute Bedded Hospital. She was the administrator in the implementation of HACCP and Health & Safety Co-ordinator for the Trust.
Rhona came to Dar to manage and commission a beach Hotel in Jangwani area but soon realised that she missed being part of the Health Services. Rhona joined Knight Support in 2004 as our Health Services Support Manager. She and Tina run the administration side of Knight Support and she takes a lead role in the running of the Ambulance and Fire Departments.
Rhona is an Emergency Response Instructor and takes active ‘casualty’ parts in all training conducted by the visiting UK personnel – this is mainly due to her Thespian tendencies and she is also the loudest person in the company so the rescue teams can always find her!
She took over the reigns of FIRST AIR RESPONDER (FAR) and has a dedicated team working with her to ensure safe, prompt medical assistance is provided to all our FAR members.
