The Fire Department
Knight Support (T) Ltd has provided Dar es Salaam with an emergency response service that would not be out of place anywhere in the world.
In fact, many of the initiatives are 'world leaders' and are the envy of many of the services available in the developed world.
Dar es Salaam, a bustling city of over 4.5 million inhabitants boasts of every possible risk, petroleum storage, International Sea and Air Port, large hotels, etc. and provides Tanzania's gateway for the importation of goods and tourists.
Formed in 2000 with 4 ex-Surrey Fire & Rescue Mercedes Pumps, it now has 14 pumping appliances, 3 turntable ladders (30m), Road Accident Rescue Vehicle, Command vehicles and 6 front line Paramedic Ambulances.
The Fire Department has grown and we now cover Arusha and Nairobi with Fire Fighting & Rescue services.

A lot of people only think of Fire Fighters of only being able to fight fires.
Yes that is the main job of a Fire Fighter but they also are highly trained and skilled in the following:-

- High Level Rescue
- Water Rescue
- Confined Space Rescue
- Chemical Spillage and Containment
- Basic First Aid
