FIRE TRAINING
Basic Fire Awareness Training
Objective:
To equip employees with some basic skills and knowledge to enable them to prevent or deal with outbreaks of fire safely. A 2 hour session covering:
Fire Safety Awareness, including:
· Causes of fire
· Evacuation
· The types of extinguishers and their capabilities
· Immediate fire risk assessment tactics at incidents
· Practical demonstration of extinguishers
· Dealing with burns
This training will be carried out on the client’s premises.
Maximum number on course – any number that can be safely accommodated (suitable venue for presentation) at the client’s premises
Fire Warden Training
Objective: as above. The 6 hour programme to include:
Part 1 (2 hours):
Fire Safety Awareness, including:
a. Causes of fire
b. Understanding of the classes and triangle of fire,
c. What to do if you find a fire
d. What to do if you hear the fire alarm
e. Evacuation and assembly
f. The types of extinguishers and their capabilities
g. Risk assessment
Part 2 (4 hours):
The Role of a Fire Warden including:
h. On hearing the fire alarm – your duties
i. Assembly point procedures
j. Human behaviour in emergencies and smoke
k. Smoke and its dangers
l. Practical smoke exercise
m. Practical use of extinguishers on live fire situations
i. Fire blanket
ii. Extinguishers that are found on-site
iii. Chip pan with oil fire
n. Dealing with burns and smoke inhalation.
Part 1 can be held on client’s premises and is available for up to 25 persons. Part 2 is run on client’s premises if premises are suitable otherwise at Knight Support’s HQ, Victoria and has a maximum number of 8 persons.
Part 1 is mandatory for anyone attending Part 2.
Each successful Fire Warden delegate is issued with a certificate that is valid for 12 months.
o. Re-certification available on an annual basis.
Additional Service: Carry out an evacuation exercise if required
